AguileraBuff Round Up: August 16-23, 2008
The week was a great week for Christina Aguilera news. We found out that Christina will be on tour performing in Northern and Eastern Europe in October. Christina is heading to Riga, Latvia, Moscow, Russia and Kiev, Ukraine.
Last weekend, Christina was featured on MTV’s Tr3s Fashionista premiere and is considered a Latino fashion icon. We already knew that!
We also got a peek at some of the Inspire print ads introducing Christina’s new fragrance, Inspire, which is set to debut on September 2nd! And Christina will be in New York for the launch at Macy’s! If you’re in the area, stop by to see if you can see her!

Christina Aguilera has been signed as a headliner for the October 14th ThisDay Africa Rising concert in London, England. This is the final concert of ThisDay’s ‘four-city, three-nation’ year-long tour.
The concert will be held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday, October 14th at 7pm and tickets are currently on sale.
ThisDay’s Africa Rising concert brings international headliners Christina Aguilera and Seal to the stage. The event will also include runway shows from top international designers including Ozwald Boetang and Chris Aire. Expected supermodels include Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Tyson Beckford, Oluchi and Liya Kebede.

The Africa Rising festival has also been to Nigeria and Washington, with the final event taking place at the Royal Albert Hall right here in London. The three previous shows were a huge success, especially in Washington where Jay Z and John Legend rocked out at one of the most talked about concerts in the US. The London leg of the Africa Rising festival looks set to be just as good, and hopefully raise just as much awareness for such a worthy cause.

The Africa Rising festival was the brainchild of Africa’s leading media source, Thisday. Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman had an evening out on Sunday night as they attended the Radiohead concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Quite a few celebrities attended the first of two Radiohead concerts, including Christina and Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elijah Wood, Tim Roth, Patricia Arquette, Seth Green, Heather Graham, and Danny Masterson. That must have been fun for the fans to see!
Christina has been quoted as saying that she enjoys listening to Radiohead while she and Jordan fool around, so I wondered…was there any necking going on at that concert?
It was a busy weekend for Christina! Saturday night she entertained a reported 500+ guests at the Trump estate in Bel-Air, and then Sunday night she and hubby Jordan had a little R&R at a concert! It’s great to see Christina out and about!

Don’t shoot the messenger!
I hate to be the one to say I told you so, but word has it that Christina Aguilera is NOT doing FashionRocks5 this year. Christina’s name has been removed from the FashionRocksLive Web site. It kind of begs the question of whether she ever was supposed to be a part of it, doesn’t it?
I previously posted my concerns about would she or wouldn’t she, and now it seems that she won’t. It’s a shame, especially considering she’ll be in New York that week. It all seemed logical that Christina would be a part of Fashion Rocks this year. Or did it?

Christina Aguilera arrived at the Trump-Nakheel Celebration on Saturday night.
Also in attendance were Orlando Bloom, Aaron Eckhart, Ali Larter, Lucy Liu, reality TV personality Omarosa (?Trump must really like her!), Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Swank (who I think looked smashing!), Tyrese, Kate Walsh and Pete Wentz.

On Saturday night, Christina Aguilera performed at Donald Trump’s private Bel-Air estate in California to help celebrate the opening of his new Dubai hotel venture with Middle East developer Nakheel.
Trump International Hotel & Tower is located in Dubai on the Palm Jumeirah. The man-made island, shaped like a palm tree, palm fronds and all, is a place of creativity, imagination and decadence.
Christina, who has never been to Dubai, said she was ‘down for any great celebration’, was happy to be a part of the evening, and looks forward to going to Dubai at some point in the future.
Wearing a beautiful and stylish dress from Welsh designer Julien MacDonald, Christina looked elegant and classy. I love the detailing of the dress and think that the skirt is nothing short of genius! Julien MacDonald had this to say when asked: “Who is your ideal customer? “I love confident women who are not afraid of their sexuality: Charlize Theron, Angelica Huston, Charlotte Rampling… I love women so my list is endless.”
I think he may have just found the perfect customer in Christina Aguilera!

Christina Aguilera will be in New York City on September 2nd, 2008, to help launch Christina Aguilera Inspire, Christina’s new perfume.
If you’re fortunate enough to be in New York next weekend, go buy a bottle of Inspire and get your chance to meet Christina! I’m guessing that the line will far exceed the 200 people — not a bad day’s “first-day” sale.
With Christina in New York on Tuesday, undoubtedly she’ll be preparing for FashionRocks5 on Friday, September 5th. With so much to do in the Big Apple, we could imagine Christina making several local appearances — perhaps at TRL, lunch with The Donald, Macy’s 150 Celebration appearances, shopping…Let’s hope we get some great photos and news out of New York!
I think it’s great that Christina is making herself available for the Inspire launch!
Here’s what Macy’s announced on their Web site:

The word is in…Christina Aguilera will be performing at Donald Trump’s lavish Bel-Air estate this Saturday night as Mr. Trump and His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem host a celebrity-filled launch party for their new Dubai property.
Expected celebrities include Orlando Bloom, Russell Crowe, Aaron Eckhart, Ali Larter, Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Swank, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (did you know Hilary and Arnold share the same birthday?), Kate Walsh and undoubtedly many, many more!
Performing will be Christina Aguilera with DJ-ing by Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz aka Ashlee Simpson’s husband.

A few weeks ago I wrote that Christina Aguilera was spotted at a Los Angeles photo shoot for Citizen K magazine. JFXonline.com had the exclusive behind-the-scenes photos, and with their permission, I am now able to post them here for you to see and comment on!
I love the photo shoot! Christina is wearing some very chic clothing and her hair is crimped and full, but I think the concept is wild!
I’m not a big fan of the black lace shirt and what appears to be a tan skirt, but I really love the look of Christina laying back in the ‘director’s chair’. Christina just abandons all!
It’s amazing how you can turn a street in Los Angeles into a photo shoot for an entertainment/fashion magazine. It looks like Citizen K magazine comes out quarterly, so perhaps we’ll see Christina in the fall or winter edition.
The photo above is my favorite! I’m not sure what Christina is selling, but it’s definitely sexy!

When Christina Aguilera recently posed for Macy’s 150 Birthday ad campaign, I found her photograph strikingly beautiful.
I looked at all the fine details of the photo — the flowers behind her, the detailing in the skirt of the dress, the color on her lips, her messy hair. But it was her eyes and her pose that drew me in and I realized that Christina Aguilera was seducing me –well, ALL of us –in a very classy way!
I’ve been looking at different photos of Christina lately and have come to the conclusion that Christina Aguilera has mastered the Art of Seduction!
The primary definition of seduction refers to a temptation or enticement to sex. But my definition is much broader. I believe you can be seduced into wanting something for [non-sexual] pleasure. And when I look at a Christina Aguilera photo and she has that perfect pose, I realize that whatever she’s selling, I want to buy.
When Christina wears this beautiful Macy’s gown, I am tempted to run to Macy’s to find one like it. I want to dress up like a little girl and look just like a beautiful princess.
But Christina isn’t just selling Macy’s. When I look at her tousled hair I immediately think of Christina Aguilera, sex kitten! Rawwrr! Her eyes portray a classy femininity yet have a ‘come hither’ look.
